Great-grandchild gate crashes anniversary
We have a follow up to last edition’s story about Joyce and Nev Killip, pictured, who met “at the dances” just after the war and celebrated their 70th (platinum) anniversary on October 21.
The couple and their family had even more reason to celebrate with the birth of their seventh great-grandchild, Mats William Gunther, pictured. Joyce and Nev’s son Noel and wife Margaret are first time grandparents. Baby Mats was born in Germany to Noel and Margaret’s daughter Lucy May Gunthner and husband Stefan.
Baby Mats arrived a week early on October 16. Judging by his great-grandparents he’s in for a long and happy life. Lucy was holidaying overseas and met Stefan while touring in Norway. They kept meeting while on tours. Their relationship blossomed and they married five years ago. Then, a year later, they came to Australia for another ceremony with his family coming here to meet the new “rellies”.
